Description
As a control variable when evaluating parent-report measures, mothers and fathers completed the 13-item Social Desirability Scale-Short Form to assess social desirability bias. Statements such as “I’m always willing to admit when I make a mistake.” were rated as True or False. α of the SDS-SF is .76, and the correlation with the full-length SDS .93. The SDS-SF has demonstrated concurrent validity across various countries.
