Description

To measure parents and youths’ posite orientation we used the POS (Caprara et al., 2012). The scale is composed of eight items, of which one (“Overall, I am satisfied with myself”) was dropped because it was in common with the CSE scale. Of the remaining seven items, six are positively worded (e.g. “I feel I have many things to be proud of”), and one was negatively worded (e.g. “At times, the future seems unclear to me”). Participants were asked to provide their ratings using a 5-point scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree).
